whats happening lately

i have been relegated to giving tours to family...

...at the same time, keeping the balance between university life and my 'old' life.

i wish i can keep up doing this, but i want to buy time..

my mind is torn between enjoying, and being a party pooper..

i have university responsibilities (which i am so worried that i have been slacking on a bit).

if i get through this semester, i wouldnt say it would be unscathed...

it would be on the wings of a prayer, and caffeine-overload.

i am an absentee friend on your blogs. but it doesnt mean i dont know what's going on.

i still read...

just a day or two late.

research mode

i have been bitten by this research bug.

i started doing this university research at 5 pm.

had dinner, and watched a little tv.

resumed.

next thing i know its almost 3 am.

gaaahhh, and i still have work tomorrow (today!).

*yawn* another day started.

another sleep lost.

**

the cross i chose, is the cross i bear.

this university thing, i am enjoying it this year.

its hardly a cross. more like a little accessory..

(an accessory that sometimes gets in the way of fun---and sleep).

thank goodness for caffeine.

ikebana (inspired) session

[inspired ikebana/modern arrangement..we followed most principles of ikebana: sun, air, moon, elements, but not th entirety as we had the option to use more modern flowers..no available japanese blossoms about]...

i was shocked when i was told, i had the best composition, and artistry, and followed the principles of ikebana.

for sooo many reasons:

-i was hardly listening. i was falling asleep..i woke up at 6am that day, went to my first class at uni the whole day, drove for an hour and a half to get home, didnt even have time for a toilet break, and got back in the car again, to beat london traffic.

-i was regretting joining the (floristry) class that night..i was sooo hungry, and my head was throbbing...plus, i am actually not into ikebana flower arrangement..

-there was a "dull" atmosphere at class that night. i dont know if it was the heat (the hottest night for the last few weeks), or the topic. it felt there werent enough flowers for the arrangement..

-the only excited person that night was the teacher..bless her.

-i was so tired, and i wanted to go to the foodcourt instead of being in the class, but i felt it would be a waste of money.

-i stayed, and i carried on. excited to dash out and meet adrian for dinner.

but hearing in the end, the praises, was a shock..as in kurat gyud..last time's arrangement, all she could muster was "good" and pelted everyone with much more beautiful comments, so then i thought, i had no hope with floristry.

and to be honest, i prefer my last week's arrangement..than this one.

i guess im more into flowers, than twigs...

mao ganing ning sulod ug floristry class, toinks.

truthfully, i was more proud of the last arrangement than this...i was showing it off to Karla, Ana and Jojo... this one will be left for them to discover,haha..

a tale of two meals

yesterday (friday) was the last day where we had to hand in our placement results to our university. it was also the day where we had to meet up after we did not see one another for two months (the duration of our internship placements).

after meeting up at uni, we decided to get some meal somewhere in town to have a catch up and just tell one another our plans for our summer holiday. most of them are going on holiday. spme going to spain, some portugal, one was off to italy and another going cross country in the scottish highlands. because apart from these are students, most of them are like me, working full-time too, and this summer is the holiday they can have the time to do it.

while i, have done my holidays during school term (prague and cebu and hopefully another cebu visit in december). until then, adrian and i cannot plan for anything as we are waiting for Ana and ROi's visa to accompany my mom to travel to the UK.

blabble ...

BloggerNW Hadleigh mumandchild

(photo: family bonding time secretly captured one afternoon)

..i am a blabbering bubble right now (hence the title, lol). im so looking forward to the next few days.
i am handing in on friday my assessment marking (final grado, in other words)to my university, and im seeing groupmates for lunch.

but thats not what the excitement about for me. the excitement is. i can have a few days for myself during the week as i got no classes.

i promised to keep continuing to learn, but it wont be academic stuff this summer, it will be about photography, about myself, and anything other than my usual books.

i promise to wake up at dawn or spend a dusk of photography just to indulge my heart, things that i wanted to do but couldnt because of university and work.

that, and the impending arrival of my love ones to come and visit me.

just the thought alone makes me feel so energized and looking positively to the days ahead.

kamo, what are you guys looking forward to? i would love to hear about it too...

just a quickie

i would just like to say, that my powerpoint presentation went so well, the child development centre asked to keep my presentation hand-out in their files for references. *gulp*

i was told that the fluidity of the presentation and delivery was professionally executed, and that the clinical knowledge and understanding is very evident in the presentation. they added, the presenting style was confidently casual, interesting intespersed with appropriate jokes and eye-contact all throughout. they thought i do powerpoint presentations for a living.

the head physiotherpist asked so many questions (and even for advice), and i could see alot of them were jotting down points while i was talking. Priya, the head PT asked me whether i know of alot of clinical research regarding postural development, and seating for children, and if i would be happy to research it for the centre in a future time (with pay). i felt my eyes wanted to come out of its sockets because as much as that is a huge compliment to my (lazy) researching skills, i have not even time to look in the mirror in my working days. my reply was a polite, i might do it when i fully get the degree so that their paper will be written by a qualified therapist. (phewww!, lusot without sounding evading work, haha).

anyways, the wonderful comments after my presentation (its like an oral exam for end of placement/internship),as lovely as it sounds, all i wanted was putting it into paper, at the end of the day, flattery gets me nowhere. and alas, they did. a 1st grade was what i was hoping for to keep consistency to my previous ones (pamawi from my mediocre, boring academic essay marks).

my nervousness over, my fidgeting over my powerpoint slides done, but the emotions are quite overwhelming.

im leaving not only a set of people, and a set of wonderful amazing inspiring therapists in the centre, but im also leaving the children that has been my constant reason why i have a jump in my steps when im working.
