the girl who saw the doctor

and was told to rest her flaming throat, and was given antibiotics.

she was also told to get much TLC and rest.

so TLC she was given.

lots and lots of it.

she was indulged in her craving for pancakes (from he Coffeehouse).

and was indulged in getting a new bedsheet for the second bedroom from Ikea. (and some smelly votives, haha).

i also made sotanghon which is Cheryl's favourite..Adrian made potato salad and coleslaw.

Emil at this stage was getting emotional..too much champagne,haha..

***

i took these photos whenever i had to go back in to get something inside the house. it was hard to take photos and cater to food and drinks..

sadly, i get overwhelmed with too many things going on:-)

the girl with the chinese lantern obsession

..because Adrian bought me my longed-for wish: chinese lanterns, i decided, it was time for a bbq..

i had some friends over on Saturday.

some photos taken the day after the BBQ...i wasnt able to whip out my big Nikons during the BBQ because it was hard being the host and taking photos too..

so i will be backtracking photos. the next entry will be photos from that BBQ night from my canon g10..=)

dont you think they're the cutest?

***

everyone commented on them when they came in..

last night, my stepson had a meal with us, and he also commented on these beautiful lights..

theyre tiny but they're adorable.

now, i want to send some to my little house in talisay, haha.

PS. i woke up so late and feverish. and again, semi-deaf in one ear. ive been getting this ear problem lately.

im sure i have an infection, nothing that a good strong antibiotic (and freshly squeezed orange juice) cant cure.

stay healthy lovelies.

thai yay yay

we had a lovely lovely thai dinner. i have been imagining this meal for a long time.

the last time i had this was when Ana was here in May.

Adrian took me to Sukothai to satiate this craving. And oh so worth it.

its so nice to have a change of food not prepared by me. Thai dinner over my cooking, anytime!

Im sure the husband was thinking that too, hahaha.

***

he gets serious when it comes to food. we both do.

our usual starter.

beef with sauce, kingprawn and coriander and soy sauce, and pork in blackbean sauce (and jasmine steamed rice)

dearest

(i wonder what i was thinking here...was the view nice? i doubt it. its soho downstairs for crying out loud..maybe, i was too tired sitting down, and my tight trousers were already giving me a wedgy..whatever it was,it sure wasnt me, pretending to be 'candid' on a very posed photo op, of course, i wasnt! *hehe*)

Dear self,

"You will get by." These words carry near your heart, and carry it tight. You will get by, because we know, certain situations aren't meant to last. Such emotions are fleeting and finicky, never lasting.

You will get by. carry these words around your neck, like an armor. You will get by because we know, no amount of feeling sorry for ourselves can change the situation, nor alter your demeanor. Laugh it out if you may.

You will get by. Carry these words, hold it to your chest, like a weapon. Kill the vanity, suck the whining, and cut the ties that drag you down. Harbor disgust for anything that shouldnt be.

You will get by. carry these words, grab it and tie it to your navel. Make it part of your system, like you were born with it. Don it like your most comfortable trousers, like the best pair of shoes you always wanted. Wear it proudly.

You will get by. Carry these words close to you, and remember them, because you will. Like you always do.

You will get by.

You will.

Do not doubt it.

Love,

you.

sunday night, monday night, and tuesday night

in my quest to be current.. here are what went on in my life since sunday night.

do not get puzzled why they are food photos. my life's centred around food.

sunday night, Adrian had his friend Pat around for desserts.

he came over at 7:30 pm, and stayed till 10pm.

Pat is a retired professor and now is enjoying life as a B & B owner at the Isle of Mull.

he and Adrian (and some others) are quite close and they always see one another at least once a year, althought they communicate regularly due to a business they have together.

here are the two, having baked apple pie and vanilla ice cream at the garden.

***

ive been having guests in the garden recently. its the only place in the house that you can breathe in, its so warm inside the house.

on monday night, i had my friend Lisa drop by and had biscuits and orange juice with me at the garden. she needed to drop by to drop off stuff i ordered from her Pampered chef party..*yaaayyy to a growing collection of bamboo cooking spoons, chef knives and some new baking tools*.

i wasnt able to take a photo of her, but i was able to take a photo of my dinner cooked by Adrian..

unfortunately, i wasnt able to take the sliced photo as i was famished by the time adrian dished out.

the cook who tended the garden before all the kitchen tasks he had to do as well. (no, im not a slave driver, really, haha).

the small yet very productive garden..we have a strawberry patch, tomato patch, an herb (rosemary, coriander, thyme) patch, carrots, potato patch, parsnip patch, plum and apple tree, blackcurrant, raspberry and blueberry bushes...as well as a flower patch, two tubs and four various little containers.

the gardener is quite a busy teacher as well, so he does what he can and i say he does a very good job=)

***

adrian's last day for work before summer holidays was today. so we met up at a coffee shop and had a 'summer plan' talk.

tonight, i was craving for something "saucy" and i was craving for roti's too, so i decided to go 'indian'.

***

hmmnnn, i wonder what tomorrow brings..

fish and chips maybe?

all photos (except the cofee + cake photo done by the iphone), are from my Dinky Niki (Nikon Coolpix).

film fetish,incoherence and backblogs

i have two packs of these babies for my polaroid camera, and a fresh two 10 pc pack of fuji instax.

i want to use them, anticipating to do, yet, i have been holding back because im scared to waste them on useless scenery that doesnt warrant capturing (as i do on my digital slr's most of the time,*nyorknyork*)

i still have to scan alot of instants i took the day Ana was leaving for the Philippines, yet, i am bothered that my blog is neither here, there, everywhere,so inconsistent and yes, illogical.

which leads me to another point.

i envy those bloggers who are able to blog in consistent sequence with regards to their acitivites in time (Aileen, Mai,Lynette are you all reading this?).

i am not.

i still have photos from way back ancient 2008, then when my mom was here, and some photos from Ana's visit.

i worry, i will have dementia before i can get to blogging them down.

currently, i can blog about something that happened today, then post photos from way back 2007, or christmas 2009, then back to summer 2008.

it is indeed true, our blogs are a true reflection of ourselves: in my case: incoherent, oftentimes backwards, sometimes too forward, and never here.

oh well, tomorrow, i might post photos of yesterday, but then again, who knows? maybe adrian's pictures from way back 1960s.

honestly, i am as clueless as the lady who brings stale sandwhich packs to the hospital every lunch time.

the V&A museum day,etc,etc

Ana and i decided to attend the Grace Kelly (dresses and costumes) exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum one day.

As most days, we always end up around lunch time in central london, because we dilly dally during breakfast always leaving the house at almost 11 in the morning.

I always wanted to take her (and all my guests who visit me) to Dino's one of my favourite pasta places in london, down at South kensington Station.

So i did.

It was logical as the restaurant was a walking distance from the V&A.

Here are some memorable photos that day
