being friends, doesnt mean i have to like what you do..but it means, doing things you like so we can be together...

what does that entail?
i go to 'mosh pit' concerts which i dont normally go for, because you like it..
or you attend my 'silly' theme parties because i was the one inviting.
i go to boot fayres you dig for, and i drag you to country fetes i go gaga over.
i help you move your stuff when you move to your new crib
and you help me wallpaper my guest bedroom.
you sing me pop songs,
i read you poetry.
we dont have to like one another's job, appreciate one another's hobbies (and still be honest about it) but we respect and like each other, we just have to have a meeting point to be in each other's company.
all, because, we like the other. and we want to be together...
friendship is a simple as that.
let's not complicate it.

its funny, how our friends let us be who we are, even if at most times they dont "get" what we do, and dont understand why we like such things..but they'd suffer in silence /and be happy for us, while they let us be, and let us spread our wings..
just so to let us fly..no matter how askew the flight is, in their field of vision.

thanks ai=) thank you for appreciating my unique abilities (muakon ug kayo, mulatay ug alambre,one-woman-buffet,LOL!), as well as appreciating things we are in common with..the love for food,and family=)
friendship is simplified if we think about it this way..if i analyze it too much, id end up hating people i dont have much in common with, but actually, like them as people=)this is the only way i could keep things up=)

I know my friends DON'T totally get me.. like how I prefer chicken and fish over beef and pork.. but still they look for a resto that serves veggies. I know for a fact that I dislike big crowds and glamorous parties and dressing up, but still they look for ways to ask me if I want to go even if they know my answer already.
I'm happy I met you and the rest because no matter how weird I am you still think I'm great.. other times, when I feel like I'm carrying a heavy load, you make me feel better by your encouraging comments.

and i agree, friendships last not because we have the same likes...friendship lasts because we care to be in one another's company.even if its just the love of food ra na...or even if its just the love of talking, or whatever, it lasts because we use that commonality (no matter how faint) to keep the bond, and keep the friendship going=)
