how i met the new year

as much as i wanted to hibernate from the cold and the dark, (fireworks display were inviting but the cold wins handsdown), my friends and i welcomed 2009 with a dance.



i was on the phone with therese, enjoying descriptions of her preparations for the new year buffet, (and akio's mumbling in the background), i knew some good things never last. after more than an hourlong chitchat, we hung up, and i had to prep up to welcome the new year with prettier lashes and bouncier hair (sadly, the hair hasnt lived up to its expectations).



off we went to laindon hills golf and countryclub where our friends ross and nic were members, and invited us for some boogie and booze.

did i want to celebrate my new year that way? not necessarily, id rather be at home in my pyjamas and eating popcorn infront of the television, but with friends like mine, i sure didnt want to miss this too.


did i regret going out? not at all. i was glad i did. it sure was fun and one great way to meet 2009.
