ikebana (inspired) session

[inspired ikebana/modern arrangement..we followed most principles of ikebana: sun, air, moon, elements, but not th entirety as we had the option to use more modern flowers..no available japanese blossoms about]...

i was shocked when i was told, i had the best composition, and artistry, and followed the principles of ikebana.

for sooo many reasons:

-i was hardly listening. i was falling asleep..i woke up at 6am that day, went to my first class at uni the whole day, drove for an hour and a half to get home, didnt even have time for a toilet break, and got back in the car again, to beat london traffic.

-i was regretting joining the (floristry) class that night..i was sooo hungry, and my head was throbbing...plus, i am actually not into ikebana flower arrangement..

-there was a "dull" atmosphere at class that night. i dont know if it was the heat (the hottest night for the last few weeks), or the topic. it felt there werent enough flowers for the arrangement..

-the only excited person that night was the teacher..bless her.

-i was so tired, and i wanted to go to the foodcourt instead of being in the class, but i felt it would be a waste of money.

-i stayed, and i carried on. excited to dash out and meet adrian for dinner.

but hearing in the end, the praises, was a shock..as in kurat gyud..last time's arrangement, all she could muster was "good" and pelted everyone with much more beautiful comments, so then i thought, i had no hope with floristry.

and to be honest, i prefer my last week's arrangement..than this one.

i guess im more into flowers, than twigs...

mao ganing ning sulod ug floristry class, toinks.

BNW 2

truthfully, i was more proud of the last arrangement than this...i was showing it off to Karla, Ana and Jojo... this one will be left for them to discover,haha..

Teacher Wanda took this photo of me, when she saw me taking pics of my arrangement..

hi, i hope it's okay that i make a comment. i'm chiara, pat's fan and friend. i've been reading your posts on a regular basis for a while now and i really like the way you write and the things you write about. you make me smile a lot and plenty times i even break into laughter =D.

anyways, the reason i couldn't stop myself from commenting this time is because it is true that your arrangement is truly of ikebana style.

my grandma and my aunt are both ikebana members, i so wanted to be one but couldn't afford the expenses that came with being one and not liking the snottiness that also came with it. i like the simplicity and neatness of ikebana arrangements, probably because i am O.C.

anyways, your arrangement is truly nice and allow me to say that i like this one better than the last, he he. advance happy birthday Ms. Ragen. =D

I love your arrangement Cheloi.
In nursing, we had one week of flower arrangement because flowers daw can make patients happy (except those who are allergic to it). Sakto sad.. flowers can brighten up a room especially if ang florist is you. =)

im glad i make you laugh=)and i hope i could continue to do so=)

thank you for your compliemnt about the arrangement=) hahaha, it goes to show how ones personal taste differs, as i am more into traditional country and dramatic flowers=)....i suppose because this arrangement does not go well with the style of the house were living in here in the UK=) our house in the philippines, would suit having this type arrangement=)and this reminds me of bonsai plants, more than anything, hehe=)

thanks chiara..=) hope to visit by your blog soon too=)

nice to meet you *hugs* =)
